Position Fleet Structural Support Heavy Repair Engineer, to join the Structure Fleet Support Department in Benjamin\'s team: a team of 5 collaborators.
Responsibilities
- Carry out the design of structural repairs for complex issues requiring prompt resolution. Provide support for minor and major repairs required by clients on a longer-term support basis.
- Investigate existing damage cases and similar repairs to ensure consistent support.
- Develop generic repair procedures to efficiently address recurring issues.
- Customer and Stakeholder Liaison: liaise with customers and internal stakeholders; oversee the life cycle of global critical queries from initial receipt to full resolution, ensuring transparency, accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in Design Organization activities by preparing, approving (Airworthiness signature) and releasing critical approval documents under Part21J delegation.
- Subcontractor Supervision: manage subcontractors with clear work specifications, monitoring of on-time delivery and quality; perform thorough technical checks to uphold high standards.
- Lead and define scope of on-site damage assessment missions to evaluate structural integrity of in-service aircraft; approve and release associated reports.
- Coordinate technically with customers, ATR Part145 team and structures engineering teams during troubleshooting, retrofits, major repairs and/or replacements.
- Ensure adherence to procedures for repairs within ongoing/open Airworthiness Dossiers; provide feedback to dossier owners for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance for selecting and introducing repetitive repairs into the Structural Repair Manual.
- Validate Maintenance Procedures and participate in the vetting of Service Bulletins prepared by the Operability and Technical Data team.
About You
- Field of study: aeronautical structures or mechanical engineering.
- Experience: minimum 10 years, with at least 6 years in aircraft structure stress analysis or repair; demonstrated expertise in complex structural repair and high-pressure problem solving.
- Technical skills / knowledge:
- Proficiency in aircraft structures (preferably ATR structures).
- Expertise in structural repair principles for metallic and composite structures.
- In-depth knowledge of metallic and composite materials.
- Good knowledge of Part21J, Part21G, Part145 regulations and JAR/FAR/CS-25.
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods.
- Knowledge of Leonardo / Airbus drawings is a plus.
- Languages: fluent in English and French (Italian and other languages are a plus).
- IT skills: proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ATR IT tools (CRM, SAMONIT, GILDA) is advantageous.
- Sof t skills: autonomous, rigorous, strong organizational skills; team player; strong customer orientation; ability to mentor other engineers; build productive networks; escalate issues and provide technical advice.
- Specific constraints: participation in stand-by duties during evenings, nights, weekends; willingness to travel abroad with short notice for on-site support missions.
