Your Mission

  • Carry out the design of structural repairs for complex issues requiring prompt resolution. Provide support for minor and major repairs required by clients on a longer-term support basis.
  • Investigate the existence of previous cases of damage and similar repairs to ensure consistent support.
  • Develop generic repair procedures to efficiently address recurring issues.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Liaison: use communication skills to liaise with customers and internal stakeholders. Oversee the entire life cycle of global critical queries, from initial receipt to full resolution, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction throughout the process.
  • Design Organization Engagement: actively participate in Design Organization activities by preparing, approving (Airworthiness signature) and releasing critical approval documents (such as Technical Adaptation and Structural Repair Approval Sheets) under Part21J delegation.
  • Subcontractor Supervision: manage the portfolio of subcontractors, ensuring clear work specifications/rules/criteria, expectations and systematic monitoring of OTD/OQD. A strong technical background enables thorough technical checks, ensuring high standards.
  • Lead and define scope (Inspection List) of on-site damage assessment missions to evaluate the structural integrity of in-service aircraft subjected to severe damage scenarios; approve and release associated reports.
  • Ensure technical coordination and liaison between customers, ATR Part145 team and the structures engineering teams at ATR HQ during troubleshooting missions, retrofits, major repairs and/or replacements carried out either by clients or by ATR Part145 teams, as required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to existing procedures for the treatment of repairs related to ongoing/open Airworthiness Dossiers; provide feedback to dossier-owners for the incorporation of best practices in a continuous improvement loop.
  • Provide technical advice to guide choices for the selection and introduction of repetitive repairs into the Structural Repair Manual (SRM).
  • Validate Maintenance Procedures and participate in the vetting of Service Bulletins prepared by the Operability and Technical Data team.

About You

  • Field of study: aeronautical structures or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience: minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 6 years in aircraft structure stress analysis or repair. Demonstrated expertise in complex structural repair and support with a track record of solving problems under pressure.
  • Technical skills / knowledge:
    • Proficiency in aircraft structures (preferably ATR structures).
    • Expertise in aircraft structural repair principles (metallic and composite).
    • In-depth knowledge of metallic and composite materials.
    • Good knowledge of Part21J, Part21G, Part145 regulations and JAR/FAR/CS-25.
    • Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods.
    • Knowledge of Leonardo / Airbus drawings is a plus.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and French (Italian and other languages are a plus).
  • IT skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Familiarity with ATR IT tools (CRM, SAMONIT, GILDA) is advantageous.
  • Soft skills:
    • Autonomous and rigorous with strong organizational skills.
    • Open-minded, positive thinking, and an excellent team player.
    • Strong customer orientation, with the ability to understand and anticipate customer needs, and provide tailored solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor other engineers in the team.
    • Aptitude to develop a productive network, escalate issues and provide technical advice to peers and hierarchy.
    • Global vision and capacity to address technical issues holistically.
    • Problem-solving and ability to work under pressure.
  • Specific Constraints:
    • The position requires standby duties during evenings, nights, weekends and weekend nights to ensure 24x7 support service.
    • Flexibility to travel abroad, sometimes on short notice, for on-site support missions (damage assessments, working parties, troubleshooting, etc.).
