Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced structural repair support, devising innovative solutions for both minor and major repairs requested by customers, ensuring high safety and reliability standards.
  • Investigate and identify similar previous cases to support consistent, well‑informed decision making.
  • Act as liaison with customers and internal stakeholders, managing the entire support query lifecycle for transparency and satisfaction.
  • Assist in developing generic repair procedures based on recurring structural issues, streamlining repair processes and reducing downtime.
  • Contribute to fleet safety and economy by delivering timely repair and engineering services informed by fleet operations knowledge.
  • Engage in Design Organization activities, preparing and approving critical documents (e.g., Technical Adaptation and Structural Repair Approval Sheets) under Part 21J delegation.
  • Guide and mentor the engineering team, sharing knowledge and ensuring readiness for both short‑term and long‑term repair projects.
  • Apply a transversal approach to manage all structural repair topics across projects.
  • Participate in knowledge exchange with peers through conferences, internal discussions and professional forums.
  • Maintain frequent interactions with customers, staff at the stress office, the repair drawing team, and other ATR departments.
  • Lead on‑site damage assessment missions for severely damaged aircraft to determine extent of damage and repair strategies.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support during major repairs or replacements for customers or ATR working parties, ensuring compliance with all standards.
  • Perform the above duties while maintaining awareness of compliance risks and acting with integrity.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (Bac +5) in aeronautical structures or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 6 years in aircraft structure stress analysis or repair, with a proven record of complex problem solving under high pressure.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in ATR structures and aircraft structural repair principles for metallic and composite materials.
    • Knowledge of non‑destructive testing methods.
    • Familiarity with Leonardo/ Airbus drawings is a plus.
  • Language Skills:
    • English (B2 level).
    • Italian is a plus.
  • IT Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Knowledge of ATR IT tools (CRM, SAMONIT, GILDA) is advantageous.
  • Soft Skills: Autonomous, rigorous, strong organizational skills, open‑minded, positive attitude, team player, strong customer orientation.
  • Willingness to participate in standby duties during evenings, nights and weekends.
