Description of Work
We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Consultant I in Staff Development. The primary purpose of this position is to provide varied, hands‑on departmental support activities by way of instruction, facilitation, and consultation in a manner that enhances the department’s image, productivity, efficiency, and overall effectiveness. This position monitors, evaluates, and coaches as needed and is responsible for the documentation, recording, and reporting of training/learning outcomes in all areas of instruction. This position is also responsible for the collaborative orientation and facilitation of the Student Nurse Clinical Program at CRH consisting of 8 Nursing Programs in the local area (both community and university) that rotate through Central Regional Hospital.
Salary Range : $62,044.00 – $102,371.00
A sign‑on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant contingent on the 2025‑2026 Budget Approval.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) / Management Preferences
Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Demonstrated broad knowledge, understanding, and distinct ability to apply principals of adult learning and various instructional methodologies.
- Proven skills to adapt teaching approaches to various audiences and ability to establish working relationships with employees at all levels.
- Must have or be able to achieve credentials as a CPR Instructor following hire.
- Demonstrated outstanding communication skills, including presentations.
Conditional Requirements
- ADA physical requirements will be discussed during the interview, including but not limited to lifting, kneeling, walking up and down stairs, and ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to maintain a current certification in NVCI annually; CRR, and ACLS biennially.
This Position Is Exempt and is exempt from certain provisions of the State Human Resources Act (GS 126).
This Position Is Designated As Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
This is a full‑time position and eligible for the full State benefits package. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.

Minimum Education and Experience
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and one year of experience in the area of specialization.
