Head of PPA Origination Renewable Energy France

Location: France (Paris)

Contract Type: Permanent

Client: A leading international renewable energy IPP

Start Date: ASAP

My client is an independent French energy producer operating internationally across France, Europe, Latin America, Indian Ocean and Africa. With a team of 30 in France and around 120 employees worldwide they develop, build, finance and operate renewable energy projects across global markets.

The business is experiencing rapid international growth and is now looking to appoint a Head of PPA Origination / Commercialisation to support and lead the commercialisation of power from its expanding renewable energy portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to determine the electricity marketing strategy for projects under development.
• Propose tailored PPA solutions for each project and context.
• Negotiate aggregation contracts (PPAs) or energy management service contracts with counterparties.
• Oversee the drafting of contracts in collaboration with the legal department.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative developments across key countries to inform commercial strategies.
• Contribute to deepening market intelligence related to renewable electricity production.
• Build and manage the PPA Origination team as the activity grows.

Key Skills & Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of electricity markets particularly in Europe.
• Strong legal and technical understanding of energy contracts.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proven leadership capability and a structured analytical mindset.

Candidate Profile

• Degree from a top-tier engineering, business or political science school.
• Minimum 5 years experience in European energy markets.
• Fluent in both French and English.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
