Gurit Composite Engineering, is a part of the Marine and Industrial Business Unit of the Gurit Group, and has offices in the UK, France and New Zealand. We provide composite engineering services to designers and manufacturers and work alongside long-standing customers in various markets such as Marine, Transportation, Architecture and Wind Energy.

We are currently looking for a Composite Design Engineer to join our engineering team in our French Office in a full-time position.

You will be working as part of a full-service composite company with integrated design consultancy, mechanical testing, and materials supply and processing that serves customers across the EMEA.

You will work with our engineering team carrying out engineering of projects for composite structures to the highest quality standard and within timescales and budget targets.

You will need to have more than 2 years experience working in the field as a composite engineer with experience in a consultancy business preferred. We are looking for someone with a firm grasp on both theoretical and practical aspects of designing and building with composites

The role will involve carrying out engineering on a wide range of projects using analytical and design skills, in collaboration with a project team. There will be regular interaction with colleagues as well clients, both external and with the materials and technology departments of Gurit. Being self confident, with great communication and organization skills is a must.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering, Material Science or related.
• Knowledge and experience of working with structural composite materials and building methods.
• Knowledge of Rhine and/or SolidWorks (or other 3-D CAD Packages) advantageous
• Knowledge of Altair Hyperworks and experience of Finite Element Analysis advantageous
• Knowledge of marine and industrial composite structures would be an advantage
• Knowledge of Gurit product range is advantageous.
• Fluent in English, both speaking and writing skills - essential.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for

• Planning, project management and client liaison on engineering projects under the supervision of a more experienced engineer.
• Conceptual structural design and detailed design and analysis of composite engineering projects under the supervision of a more experienced engineer.
• Assist in the development of innovative and efficient engineering solutions and working methods
• Develop own technical capability and broaden engineering knowledge across different markets
• Develop project, commercial and personnel management skills
