Location : ITER Cadarache Site, France Contract Duration : 12 Months (minimum – extendable) Availability : ASAP Background/Area of Expertise: Structural and civil engineering with hands-on experience in field engineering, construction supervision, and structural validation for infrastructure or industrial projects. Seniority: Open – minimum professional experience of 3 years preferred in structural/civil engineering roles on construction sites or large-scale industrial projects. Languages:

• Italian (mandatory)
• English (mandatory)
• French (desirable)

About the Role The Structural Civil Engineer will be deployed on-site at ITER Cadarache to supervise, coordinate, and validate civil and structural engineering works during the execution phase. The role bridges field operations with engineering design, ensuring technical compliance, construction quality, and timely delivery of structural components. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site civil and structural construction activities in compliance with project design and quality standards.
• Provide engineering support and resolve technical issues arising during the construction phase.
• Conduct field reviews of structural drawings, calculations, and models to ensure constructability and alignment with actual site conditions.
• Interface with contractors, designers, and the client to manage and control technical scope and implementation.
• Participate in technical inspections, progress evaluations, and acceptance tests.
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards and engineering best practices during all site operations.
• Contribute to the resolution of non-conformities and propose corrective actions when needed.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Navisworks for design coordination and model clash detection.
• Experience with civil/structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro , SAP2000 , or MIDAS Civil .
• Familiarity with Revit and Tekla Structures for BIM integration and structural detailing.
• Strong grasp of Eurocodes and structural design standards applicable to reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Ability to interpret and validate construction drawings, calculation reports, and structural models.

Requirements

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in structural or field civil engineering roles, preferably in large industrial, nuclear, or infrastructure projects.
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing and field engineering challenges.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for multidisciplinary teams.
• Capability to work independently in a dynamic, site-based environment.
• Fluency in Italian and English; French is a valuable asset.
