Wireless Embedded Systems Engineer for High-Throughput Applications
Wireless Embedded Systems Engineer for High-Throughput Applications
Level of qualifications required : A levels + 2 years of higher education or equivalent
Fonction : Temporary scientific engineer
Level of experience : Recently graduated
Context
The engineer will be working in the Inria-AIO team ( at Sorbonne University. The Inria-Paris center is located at the heart of Paris, in the 13th arrondissement.
Assignment
We are looking for an ambitious engineer for a fixed-term contract to work on wireless embedded systems for high-throughput applications. The position will start near 1-June 2026.
The objective of this position is to design and experimentally validate crystal-free embedded systems capable of supporting high data-rate wireless applications. In particular, the work will focus on programming and optimization of a crystal-free embedded research platform, as well as system-level validation under realistic wireless conditions.
A key aspect of the work will be the investigation of over-the-air audio streaming in the presence of wireless interference, with the goal of understanding system limitations and proposing robust communication strategies.
Another important component of the work will be the development of strategies for calibration and over-the-air compensation of free-running oscillators, enabling reliable communication without precise frequency references.
The engineer will work at the interface of embedded systems, wireless communications, and experimental platform development, with a strong emphasis on real-world validation.

- Experimental investigation of over-the-air audio streaming in the presence of wireless interference
- Development of calibration and over-the-air compensation techniques for free-running oscillators
- Design and implementation of embedded software and communication protocols for wireless systems
- Experimental validation and performance characterization of the proposed techniques
Skills
- Strong programming skills in embedded systems (C/C++ or similar)
- Familiarity with wireless communication systems
- Experience with experimental platforms and measurement setups is a plus
- Ability to perform literature surveys and understand state-of-the-art research
- Excellent technical presentation and writing ability
