Technical Account Manager - Public Sector
We are seeking a Presales Professional to deliver pre‑sales and technical expertise for a key SAS customer within the public sector space, building broad relationships, identifying strategic opportunities, and supporting the development of new sales initiatives and existing SAS implementations.
Responsibilities
- Engage clients at executive and other levels to nurture and enhance relationships.
- Deliver up‑to‑date information on SAS capabilities, roadmap, and strategic direction.
- Establish and maintain a strategic partnership with clients.
- Serve as the primary technical contact between the Account Executive, Systems Engineer, and other services during all pre‑sales activities.
- Work with SAS Professional Services to coordinate pre‑sales efforts with paid consulting opportunities.
- Act as the strategic advisor to SAS users and customer IT management.
- Collaborate with the Account Executive to pursue relationships and opportunities in parallel, widen sales bandwidth, build trust, and maintain the integrity of the SAS/client relationship.
- Assist the Account Executive in developing and advancing sales leads and opportunities.
- Learn about customer business, identify latent pain, and set priorities on specific action items.
- Partner with the sales team to develop and manage the overall Account Engagement Plan (AEP) documenting all SSOs, Action Plans, support resources (SE, consulting, etc.), and timeframes.
- Compile status reports, ensure account action items are completed, or escalate to appropriate management.
- Document how SAS is used throughout the account and recommend changes or enhancements as needed.
- Promote use of other SAS technologies, solutions, and resources (consulting, technical support, training, conferences) to ensure optimal use and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the competitive marketplace and key competitors at the client.
- Provide follow‑up support in disseminating technical information across both organizations.
- Communicate and present current SAS solutions and future direction, ensuring highest customer satisfaction.
- Lead teams working with the Account Executive in all customer‑related activities involving SAS.
Qualifications
- Seasoned presales professional with strong background in data analytics.
- Experience with public‑sector customers and the banking sector.
- Knowledge of SAS technology preferred.
- Insight into how organisations can optimise IT solutions.
- Work experience in a similar role for public‑sector customers.
- Clear understanding of sales strategies and cycles.
- Excellent problem‑solving, organisational, decision‑making, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conceptualise client needs and translate them into specific implementation strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Result‑focused mindset.
- Willingness to travel.
- Bilingual – French and English.
- Curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability valued.
