What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications that meet stringent security requirements.
- Collaborate with system architects and other engineers to create robust software solutions tailored to client specifications.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards while providing constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner to ensure system reliability.
- Document software designs, processes, and user manuals to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain project transparency.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve software development practices.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure that all software complies with federal security regulations and guidelines.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical challenges and career development.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to enhance team collaboration and productivity.
- Engage with clients to gather feedback and refine software features based on user experience and operational needs.
- Contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks to improve software quality and reduce manual testing efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on secure coding practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React.
- Familiarity with database management systems, such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MongoDB, and experience with data modeling.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Must possess a valid Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
