Sales Director
We are partnering with a well-established, international engineering company to appoint a Sales Director to lead its French business.
This is a senior, commercially driven leadership role within a financially stable, privately owned organisation with a strong international presence and a reputation for high-quality, application-driven electronic products.
The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a national business, combining hands‑on sales leadership with broader responsibility for team performance, market development, and overall business growth.
The Role
This is a Sales Director role first and foremost, with full responsibility for driving revenue growth in France.
While the position carries Managing Director scope internally, the primary focus is on business development, design‑in sales, and commercial execution. The successful candidate will be expected to lead from the front, remaining actively engaged with customers, partners, and key opportunities.
The role is ideally suited to a commercially strong, technically credible leader who is comfortable operating in a design‑in‑led sales environment and can balance individual contribution with team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Business Development
- Drive revenue growth across the French market through direct customer engagement and new business development
- Build, develop, and convert a strong pipeline of design‑in opportunities
- Expand relationships with distribution partners and key OEM customers
- Identify and develop new market opportunities and application areas
- Personally lead key customer engagements, negotiations, and strategic opportunities
Technical & Design‑In Engagement
- Operate credibly in technical‑commercial discussions, particularly around power conversion and electronic component applications
- Support design‑in activity with customers, ensuring early specification into development programmes
- Work closely with FAEs and technical teams to support complex sales cycles
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, applications, and competitive positioning
- Lead, coach, and develop a small, high‑impact commercial team
- Drive a proactive sales culture with clear expectations around customer activity and pipeline development
- Improve CRM discipline, forecasting accuracy, and overall sales execution
- Support the development of inside sales and field sales capability
Business Responsibility
- Take ownership of local business performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and target delivery
- Align local commercial strategy with wider group objectives
- Contribute to local marketing and demand generation activities
- Help shape the future structure and growth of the French business
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a hands‑on Sales Director with strong technical‑commercial credibility and a proven track record in design‑in‑led environments.
Must‑Have Experience
- Proven experience in technical B2B sales within electronic components, power electronics, or a closely related field
- Strong understanding of the design‑in process and long‑cycle technical sales environments
- Experience working with both distribution partners and direct OEM customers
- Track record of driving revenue growth and winning new business
- Experience leading sales teams while remaining personally active in front of customers
- Fluency in French and English
- Experience in power electronics, power supplies, or AC‑DC / DC‑DC environments
- Exposure to adjacent areas such as power semiconductors or active electronic components
- Existing network within relevant industrial sectors in France
