The Team
Our Field Sales organisation is a key driver of SumUp’s growth in France. Operating on the ground, close to merchants, the team brings our ecosystem of payment and business tools directly to small business owners across the country.
As Regional Manager – Field Sales France , you will play a pivotal leadership role. You will directly manage a team of 3–5 Territory Managers , each responsible for leading and scaling their own teams of Field Sales Consultants (both employed and self-employed).
You’ll act as the regional owner of performance, culture, and execution, building a high-performance sales engine that delivers sustainable revenue growth while developing future leaders within SumUp.
What You’ll Do
Own the performance of France, delivering ambitious revenue acquisition targets and ensuring sustainable payback on sales investments.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3–5 Territory Managers, enabling them to recruit, onboard, and ramp high-performing Field Sales Consultants across their territories.
Build and embed a strong field sales culture focused on accountability, coaching, and consistent execution of SumUp’s Sales DNA.
Drive regional sales strategy, including acquisition focus, pricing execution, upsell and cross-sell initiatives, and competitive positioning.
Spend time in the field alongside Territory Managers and consultants to provide hands‑on coaching and performance improvement.
Standardise and optimise field sales processes, toolkits, and reporting to maximise productivity and efficiency.
Monitor commissions, incentives, and performance metrics, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
Act as a strategic partner to the Head of Sales France and collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders including Inside Sales, Sales Enablement, and European Sales Leadership.
Lead strategic conversations on key regional accounts and competitive dynamics.
You’ll Be Great for This Role If
You have 7+ years of leadership experience, including direct management of field sales teams.
You have successfully managed managers before (e.g., Territory Managers, Area Managers, or similar profiles).
You bring strong experience in Merchant Services, POS, Payments, Fintech, or a comparable environment.
You are both strategic and hands‑on — comfortable defining regional strategy while coaching in the field.
You are highly results‑driven, with a strong understanding of sales metrics, payback models, and performance optimisation.
You excel at hiring, developing, and retaining top sales talent.
You lead with empathy, clarity, and resilience in fast‑moving, target‑driven environments.
You are comfortable navigating complexity and influencing senior stakeholders.
