Overview

Timberland is a global outdoor lifestyle brand, known for its iconic footwear and commitment to sustainability. As part of the Timberland EMEA team based in Paris, you will develop and execute 360° marketing campaigns that align with the company’s EU strategy and drive brand demand across on‑sell and sell‑thru metrics such as revenue, margin, traffic and conversion.

Primary Accountabilities

Brand activity

  • Put the consumer first – scout news ideas and solutions that enable the brand to connect and engage with target audiences.
  • Build a seasonal local GTM plan, through the Go To Market process, including detailed marketing activities (media plan, PR, digital, events, phygital activation) for wholesale and brand activations with a focus on major cities (e.g., Paris).
  • Integrate the company strategy and direction into a digital‑led media plan.
  • Support the EMEA Marketing team in creating a high‑focus digital media planning brief.
  • Develop purpose‑led brand activations at the EMEA level, ensuring inclusivity, diversity and omnichannel execution for the represented marketplace.

Wholesale

  • Build sustainable trade relationships with top accounts to keep Timberland top‑of‑mind with key retailers.
  • Develop, lead and execute 360‑degree activations with local key account partners.
  • Develop and reinforce energy stories for Tier 0 and Tier 1 distribution doors, strengthening brand edge and positioning.
  • Ensure co‑op activities are based on the brand campaign, aligned with the co‑op budget and track results against set KPIs.
  • Benchmark against competitors and find alternative solutions to stand out at all distribution levels.

PR & Influence

  • Support seasonal strategic briefs to local PR agencies in alignment with HQ, advising on brand direction and business priorities.
  • Develop and implement a local PR plan that supports brand positioning, media outreach and reputation management.
  • Develop a media relations strategy, seeking high‑level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
  • Plan and budget for PR events, initiatives and seeding programs that increase the quality and quantity of brand placements.
  • Provide input to central teams on potential local brand partnerships, ambassadors and influencers to work authentically and establish long‑term relationships.
  • Day‑to‑day: monitor and report media coverage, press material translations and sample management.

Budget Control & Marketing Measurement

  • Manage the local budget on an ongoing basis to ensure all activities are cost‑effective and within budget.
  • Continuously evaluate spend to ensure effective return on investment.
  • Report on investment initiatives through relevant KPI tracking.

Skills for Success

  • Required: University Degree in Marketing or related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Based in Paris with a strong network in local cultural hubs and agency landscape.
  • Deep knowledge of the footwear/apparel industry and its distribution in France and Benelux.
  • Significant wholesale trade marketing experience in a premium branded environment, preferably with footwear.
  • Relationship experience with Tier 0 and Tier 1 accounts is a plus.
  • Strong digital media knowledge (paid social media, brand digital activities and other digital platforms). Google Analytics experience is a plus.
  • Analytical skills: able to read business figures and respond accordingly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote).
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Good communication, drive, enthusiasm, flexibility, teamwork and solution‑oriented mindset.
  • French mother tongue, fluent English. Dutch is a plus.
