To deliver the best flight experience, Safran Seats continuously seeks new innovations to adapt to the market, support airline strategies, and improve the passenger experience today and tomorrow. The R&T (Recherche & Technologie) team needs you to join as project and technical representative for new technologies under your responsibility.
Your objective is to identify, investigate, and validate new seat applications using new materials and fabrication processes. Your challenge is to conduct research and industrialization activities up to a maturity level that ensures production of tomorrow's aircraft seats. Your daily activities will include the following:
- Carry out R&T studies related to the introduction of new materials and/or fabrication processes
- Provide technical support during project specification phases
- Formalize actions within the allocated budget
- Imagine, design, and size future products and concepts
- Prepare technical reports and ensure achievement of technical objectives
- Ensure project transition to product development teams
- Innovate to meet and anticipate customer demand and differentiate from the competition
- Coordinate activities of a multidisciplinary team if needed
Responsibilities
- Realize R&T studies based on introducing new materials and/or fabrication processes
- Provide technical support during project specification and development
- Document actions and manage budget implications
- Design and size future seat concepts and products
- Prepare technical reports and ensure achievement of objectives
- Support transition of projects to product development
- Innovate to respond to customer needs and stay ahead of the competition
Job Requirements
Do you want to contribute to designing the airplane seat of tomorrow used by millions of passengers? Join a growing group with decarbonization and digital transformation ambitions in aeronautics. The role requires:
- At least 4–5 years of successful industrial-sector experience, particularly in innovation
- Engineering background with strengths in design, simulation, industrialization, and materials & processes, especially in additive manufacturing technologies, composites, and plastics
- Recognition for innovation, adaptability, listening, and communication
- Knowledge of design software (e.g., CATIA) and/or simulation software (e.g., HyperWorks) is a plus
- English proficiency (written and spoken) for daily exchanges with international colleagues and technical documentation
