About Expliseat

At Expliseat, we are reinventing the way people travel. Since 2012, our patented ultralight aircraft seats have been making planes lighter, reducing fuel consumption, and cutting CO₂ emissions. With over 10,000 seats already flying worldwide, we are the leader in ultralight seats for regional aviation and are now expanding into the medium‑haul market.

Our mission? Combine performance, comfort, and a positive environmental impact.

Join a passionate team where innovation, agility, and bold ideas drive every project—and help decarbonize tomorrow’s mobility ✈️

Your role at Expliseat

As a Mechanical simulation engineer, you will play a key role in the development of lightweight seats, 30% lighter than existing products, using finite element simulation, in order to contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of mobilities. You will handle the CAE-related aspects of complex; innovative projects using your previous experience of mechanical product development to develop solutions and demonstrate their mechanical performance with predictive models.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop complex new seat structures and systems featuring new mechanical challenges and implement design solutions to adjust their mechanical performance under dynamic, static and endurance loads to pass all regulatory tests. Work on innovative technical concepts to achieve weight and cost optimization while maintaining seat mechanical performance.
  • Generate finite element models to represent various complex seat functions (accessories and mechanisms) and run simulations to evaluate their mechanical performance under all mechanical loading conditions listed in the product specification, in terms of dimensions, weight, cost, airworthiness, quality, comfort / ergonomy, design, robustness, schedule.
  • Submit ideas for design modifications that can improve mechanical resistance and robustness and/or save weight. Assess the risks and opportunities associated with the proposed concepts. Ensure that the proposed concepts reach the expected level of mechanical performance by combining finite element analysis and analytical calculations.
  • Analyze the physical tests comparatively to the finite element models and work on the ideas for improving model correlation.
  • Contribute to improving the predictivity of the simulation models through selecting and updated appropriate models of dynamic structure behavior, developing material data cards, including effects of damage and failure, working on the update of interface links and phenomena of the assembled parts.

This list is not exhaustive. Additional projects may be added depending on company needs and your interests.

Your profile

  • Graduated engineer in the field of mechanics or similar discipline
  • At least three years of professional experience in mechanical engineering
  • Two years of experience with dynamic finite elements simulation
  • Understanding material physics and base principles of FEM methods.
  • Previous experience with composite materials is appreciated
  • Previous experience in the field of aeronautics is appreciated
  • Project and time management skills
  • Ability to work with a restrictive deadline of results delivery
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with various levels of management
  • Language skills: upper intermediate level in English and French
