Wheelabrator Global Air (Norican Group) is seeking a Global Air OEM Engineering VP, a visionary technical leader capable of driving global engineering strategy, unifying practices across technical centres and structuring innovation for years to come.

This key role within the Global Air Technology Centre directly influences the performance, competitiveness and transformation of the entire Air business.

Strategy & technical leadership

• Define and deploy the global engineering strategy, aligned with business objectives, target costs and delivery commitments.
• Act as the executive interface between engineering and sales teams to translate technical complexity into business impact.
• Participate in the development of the Air Business Plan.
• Work with the sales teams to identify current and future customer needs in order to enrich the product portfolio.
• Lead competitive analysis and technology monitoring.
• Prioritise and frame innovation, development or optimisation projects.

Harmonisation & technical excellence

• Unify engineering methods between technical centres:
  • validation and approval processes.

Industrialisation & supply chain integration

• Strengthen integration between engineering and the supply chain to ensure manufacturability, consistency of parts lists and cost control.
• Reduce late changes through rigorous management of design maturity and change management.
• Define and deploy modular, reusable architectures suited to an ETO (Engineer-to-Order) environment.
• Maintain a library of validated modules and standard design rules.
• Supervise project managers and monitor the achievement of deliverables.
• Ensure the quality, timeliness and profitability of engineering contributions to customer projects.
• Develop an effective global engineering organisation: skills, succession, commitment, maturity.
• Drive the transformation towards digital tools: PLM/PDM, 3D, document management, knowledge management.
• Formalise and structure expertise into sustainable processes and reference frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years' experience, including 5 years in engineering management.
• Proven experience in CAPEX projects in an international industrial environment.
• Field experience with customers and technical partners.
• Strong skills in developing innovative products that have led to successful commercialisation.
• Fluency in English (French/German appreciated).
• Natural leadership, technical credibility and impeccable integrity.
• Ability to unite multicultural teams and drive change.
• Analytical, decisive and results-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.
• Ability to think strategically while remaining operational.
