Position Overview

This position is based at the EIB headquarters in Luxembourg and requires regular office presence. It offers the opportunity to work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1 September / October 2026). It may be extended up to 6 months if required by the University.

The traineeship programme aims to attract applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered. Applicants are advised to limit applications to a maximum of three submissions; only the first three applications will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist audit teams in delivering audit assignments included in the Annual Audit Plan
  • Contribute to the analysis of audited processes and identification of risks
  • Participate in the construction of audit programmes
  • Liaise with audit stakeholders, prepare and register interactions, and discuss them
  • Conduct fieldwork audit procedures and report conclusions
  • Contribute to audit reporting
  • Follow up on action points

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree in business management, credit, finance, economics, internal audit, controlling, accounting, or another relevant discipline
  • Excellent analytical skills and organizational capabilities, commitment and accuracy
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent knowledge of MS‑Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and artificial intelligence tools
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of French and/or another EU language is an advantage
