Working Model: 100% onsite for the first 3 months (non-negotiable)

Then 1 day remote per week (subject to conditions)

Context

We are supporting a major financial services organisation in the search for a DB2 z/OS Expert to join an existing mainframe team. This is a highly technical, operational role focused on RUN / MCO (maintenance in operational condition).

The consultant will be expected to integrate quickly into the existing team and actively contribute to the stability and performance of a critical environment.

This position is not development or data-focused — it is strictly related to DB2 system administration on a mainframe (z/OS).

Key Responsibilities

• Strengthen the DB2 systems team and contribute to daily RUN / MCO activities
• Manage incidents, support requests, and changes
• Provide Level 3 (L3) support within a critical environment
• Perform system maintenance activities (patching, fixes, stabilisation)
• Participate in technical projects such as migrations, upgrades, and relocations
• Ensure availability, stability, and continuity of the DB2 platform

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of experience with DB2
• Strong experience in DB2 system administration (not development)
• Significant experience in MCO / RUN / production environments
• Experience handling L3 incidents in critical environments
• Ability to work in a structured, operations-focused environment
• Comfortable working onsite and with operational constraints (on-call, extended hours if needed)

Nice to Have

• Experience in banking, insurance, or other regulated industries
• Involvement in migration, upgrade, or infrastructure transformation projects
• Broader knowledge of mainframe / system environments
