Role
Site Construction Manager
Responsibilities
- Construction in a daily process.
- During the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meeting: identify and warn of potential safety risk in any shared activities; propose support or solutions to make activities easier, more efficient and with lower risk; give feedback on previous day activities to share with the Construction team and other contractors on what can be improved; alert on any risk identified on the site (structural, safety, security, behavior, etc.); share any safety deviation found in the previous day.
- During the Day: understand and analyze constraints of a construction phase; in autonomy, propose solutions to make the construction happen with all success criteria; provide input to planning to minimize safety risks linked to co-activities; propose and provide material handling to make the construction safe and efficient; propose and provide materials to avoid risk of contamination when in a production area.
- Operate with full autonomy as part of the construction team, understanding roles, responsibilities, and deliverables.
- Understand Safety and Quality client CBA’s.
- Collaborate and communicate with the Project team and Operations leaders.
- Confront subcontractors when a safety deviation occurs.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in material handling and execute in full autonomy.
- Certifications to drive forklift and aerial platforms (not mandatory).
- Provide any construction material rented locally.
- Electrical certification: H0/B0 (ideally but not mandatory).
- Experience in craning.
- Fluent in English and French; French language is required to handle the Project team and Vendor.
- Team player with a positive attitude and problem-solving orientation.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Experience in site construction management or related role.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a construction environment.
- Knowledge of safety and quality processes and ability to reinforce them on-site.
- Communication skills to interact with project teams and vendors.
- Language proficiency as specified (English and French).
