Construction Manager

• Support all construction, material handling & industrial work activities identified and approved in Construction Daily Direction Settings meeting.
• Evaluate, propose, and lead with high autonomy best practices to execute construction tasks with safety and quality requirements.

Construction Support in projects:

• With approbation of SCPO or ConstrDay ...uction leader, the construction contractor is engaged to support construction phases in Initiative or Masterplan project. It may be under the responsibility of the SCPO or the project manager.
• The Construction contractor is involved during conception & definition phases to help in construction plan definition.

Responsibilities

• Construction in a daily process:
• During the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meeting :
• Identify and warn of potential safety risk in any shared activities if needed.
• Propose either support or solutions to make activities easier, more efficient and with practices that bring the lower risks.
• Give feedback on previous day activities to share with Construction team and other contractors experience and what can be improved.
• Alert on any risk identified on all the site: can be structural, safety, security, behavior, …
• Share any safety deviation found in previous day.

During the Day

• Approve safety permit.
• Coach on permit creation.
• Provide help on material handling to other contractors.
• Lead construction activities in autonomy.
• Has the responsibility for truck unloading during equipment’s delivery.
• Follow high risk tasks as a safety coordinator.
• Project support or lead:
• Understand & analyze constraints of a construction phase.
• In autonomy, propose solutions to make the construction happen with all success criteria.
• Give input to the planning to minimize safety risks linked to co-activities.
• Propose and provide any material handling to make the construction safe and efficient.
• Propose and provide material to avoid risk of contamination when in a production area.
• Lead the construction team.
• With SCPO or Project Manager agreement, adjust construction planning facing any unexpected event.
• Could lead small scale projects end to end with full autonomy : This includes facilities projects, IT, line/equipment construction

Skills requirement

• Full autonomy, part of the construction team, understand his role, responsibilities & deliverables.
• Understand Safety and Quality CBA’s
• Has ability to collaborate and communicate with Project team and Operations leaders.
• Able to confront any subcontractors when a safety deviation occurs.
• Has knowledge and experience in Material handling and can execute in full autonomy
• Certifications to drive forklift and aerial platforms (Not mandatory)
• Provide any construction material rented locally.
• Has following electrical certification: H0/B0 (Ideally but not mandatory)
• Has experience in craning.
• Fluent in English and French

Others

• Is Role model by respecting plant safety procedures.
• The construction contractor will be located on site to be fully integrated with the construction team.
• The vendor will provide the computer & software & all license related.
• To support any construction phase, it could be requested exceptionally to work on Weekends

• MS Office
• French language is must to handle Project team and Vendor.
• Team player, positive attitude and more supportive on problem solving.
