This role is not purely technical – it combines business, project ownership, and site leadership.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Chargé d’Affaires is responsible for the full lifecycle of industrial mechanical projects , from tendering and costing to execution and delivery.
The role combines:
- technical expertise
- commercial responsibility
- project management
You will act as a key interface between client, engineering, and site teams , ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tendering & Technical Evaluation
- Analyse client requirements, specifications, and technical documentation
- Define the most appropriate mechanical solutions and methodologies
- manpower

- logistics
- prepare accurate costing (chiffrage) and timelines
- develop and present technical & commercial offers
2. Commercial & Contract Management
- Participate in client negotiations (technical and financial aspects)
- Identify risks and opportunities within projects
- Manage variations (extra works / change orders) and ensure client validation
3. Project Management (End-to-End)
- Manage projects from kick-off to completion
- Plan and coordinate site activities
- Lead and supervise:
- internal teams
- subcontractors
- Ensure alignment with project scope, deadlines, and budget
4. Site & Operational Coordination
- Organise site setup and resource allocation
- Ensure smooth execution of:
- mechanical installation
- assembly / dismantling
- relocation of industrial equipment
- Work closely with logistics, procurement, and HR teams
5. Financial & Performance Monitoring
- Track project performance (costs, margins, progress)
- Ensure proper invoicing and cash collection
- Implement corrective actions in case of deviations
- Provide regular reporting to management and clients
- Ensure proper project handover and documentation
- Conduct post-project analysis (RETEX)
- Identify lessons learned and improvement actions
7. QHSE Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- safety regulations
- internal procedures
- client requirements
- Participate in risk assessments and audits
Required Profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
- mechanical installation / relocation / maintenance
- project management
- site coordination
- exposure to international projects is a strong advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- mechanical systems
- piping / structural / machinery installation (depending on projects)
- ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- experience with costing and budgeting
- familiarity with project tools / CAD is a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong ownership mindset
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-driven environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Client-oriented approach
Languages
- English: Professional level (mandatory)
- French: Professional level (mandatory for France-based roles)
Mobility
