As a Capex Controller at Data4, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing capital expenditures across our operations in France. This position requires a keen analytical mindset and a strong understanding of financial management principles, particularly as they relate to capital investments. What you'll do
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of capital expenditure projects, ensuring they adhere to budgetary constraints and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers and department heads to develop comprehensive capital expenditure budgets that reflect the strategic priorities of the organization.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting to assess the viability and potential return on investment of proposed capital projects.
- Prepare and present regular reports on capital expenditure performance to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Evaluate and analyze variances between actual and budgeted capital expenditures, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors during financial audits related to capital expenditures, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
- Lead initiatives to streamline capital expenditure processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in capital management to inform strategic decision-making and enhance the company's competitive edge.
- Facilitate training and support for team members on capital expenditure policies and procedures, fostering a culture of financial accountability.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of capital expenditures in financial statements.
- Support the development of long-term capital planning strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and market conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or capital expenditure control, preferably within the technology or data center sectors.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques, with a solid understanding of capital budgeting processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven experience in project management and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams and departments.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with data center operations and the specific financial challenges associated with this industry.
- Experience with financial software and tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of French accounting standards and regulations, as well as international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
