Building Management System (BMS) / Gestion Technique du Bâtiment (GTB) Engineer Paris or Lyon [...]
BMS / GTB Engineer – Energy Efficiency Engineering
My client is a fast‑growing, profitable company founded in 2022, supporting institutional real estate investors in their energy transition. They operate across the full project lifecycle: strategic advisory, building studies, project execution (project management assistance and general contracting works), and green asset management. Through an integrated digital platform, building owners can monitor and improve the energy performance of their assets, increase value, and ensure regulatory compliance.
The Role
As part of an ambitious objective to finance over €1 billion of projects by 2027, my client is hiring an experienced BMS / GTB Engineer to join their Energy Efficiency Engineering team. This is a hands‑on technical role, focused on the design, specification, costing, and delivery support of complex BMS (GTB) projects in existing buildings and retrofit contexts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Study & Pre‑Design Phase
You will act as a BMS technical expert, either leading the GTB scope or supporting a broader project team.
- Design and dimension BMS / GTB and electrical systems (metering, lighting interfaces, etc.)
Produce:
- Functional analyses
- Technical notes and calculations
- Define BMS strategies aligned with energy performance objectives and regulatory requirements
- Propose energy‑saving solutions, with attention to sustainability and innovation
- Carry out cost studies, ROI analysis, and budget estimations for:
- New BMS installations
- BMS upgrades and retrofits
- Ensure regulatory compliance (BACS decree, NF C15‑100, environmental and safety standards)
- Draft technical specifications for tender documents (DCE)
- Participate in technical exchanges with contractors and integrators during consultation phases
- Define measurement & verification protocols for Energy Performance Contracts (CPE)
2. Project / Works Phase

- Check progress
- Review installed equipment
- Validate compliance with design and specifications
3. Additional Contributions
- Maintain technology and regulatory watch on BMS and smart building topics
- Occasionally participate in energy audits
- Contribute to the development of new technical offers
- Support the creation of internal engineering and verification tools
- Participate in the rollout and commissioning of internal tech platforms
Core Technical Expectations

- OPC / OPC UA
- MQTT (nice to have)
- Strong understanding of BMS pricing:
- Upgrade/retrofit costs
- Ability to estimate, compare, and optimise technical solutions financially
