Safety Specialist – Engineering Directorate – Pierre Escané’s team (10 collaborators, 4 in Safety scope)
Mission
- Participate in systems safety analyses on all aircraft systems in accordance with ARP 4754(A) and ARP 4761 guidelines.
- Write and update safety analyses.
- Determine safety requirements for equipment/system suppliers.
- Engage in discussions with certification authorities.
- Attend project review meetings after reviewing and approving deliverables.
- Update existing safety documents.
- Provide support to the airworthiness service in defining in‑service event severity.
- Provide support to the scheduled maintenance service, particularly for the justification of Time Limits documents.
Qualifications
- Experience in certification.
- Good knowledge of certification specifications JAR/FAR/CS 25, CS E and CS P, and development standards (DO, ARP, …).
- In‑depth knowledge of CS/AMC , ARP 4754(A) and ARP 4761.
- Knowledge of systems safety analyses (FHA, PSSA, SSA).
- Experience with fault trees/dependence diagram modelling.
- Common cause analysis (ZSA, PRAs, CMA) expertise.
- FMEA/FMES experience.
- Understanding of equipment reliability issues and associated computations.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems architecture, particularly critical systems, installation, segregation/separation rules, and systems development processes.
- Proficiency with at least one fault tree/dependence diagram software tool; SARAA knowledge appreciated.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with various parties (authorities, partners, suppliers, designers, airworthiness staff, production, quality, purchasing).
- Autonomy and initiative‑taking.
- Fluent in English and French; Italian is a plus.
