Description Of Work
We are currently recruiting for multiple Youth Program Education/Assistant I positions for the Child and Adolescent Unit (CAU) at Central Regional Hospital in Butner, NC. These positions will provide specialized direct services to extremely behaviorally challenged patients in the forms of behavioral programming, facilitating training/activities, in addition to assisting with health care needs to whatever is deemed necessary.

Salary Range: $36, $54,237.00
Recruitment Range: $40, $45,835.00
A Sign-on bonus of $2,500 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the Budget Approval.
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Basic knowledge of adolescent psychiatric and developmental disorders, intervention models used in behavior intervention programs, medication classes and their side effects
Ability to observe, problem-solve, coach, report, document, and collect data regarding treatment / education interventions
Ability to manage concurrent treatment plans and approved behavioral interventions during interactions with the patient, including ongoing assessments and applying judgement in the application of approved behavioral interventions
Ability to convey information clearly to family members and treatment team members
Conditional Requirements
Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR certification within 60 days
Valid driver's license
This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Shift Premiums For 8-Hour Shifts
Day: 5% weekend shift premium
Evening: 10% shift premium plus an additional 15% weekend shift premium
Night: 10% shift premium plus an additional 15% weekend shift premium
Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus*
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

Veteran's and National Guard Preference
Applicants seeking Veteran's Preference must attach a DD-214 Member-4 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to their applications.
Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS), along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
