Wind Analyst and Performance Engineer (Montpellier)

Our 3 core businesses are project design & wind/solar resource assessment, technical advisory, and construction management services. We are involved in the entire project life cycle, from development to operation and dismantling/repowering. The company was created in 2018 by 3 experienced engineers and has a team of 25 experts based in Paris, Rennes, Montpellier in France, Manila in the Philippines and soon Madrid, Spain (opening in 2026). Your role
You will be working in our wind technical department and will deliver the following services for project developers, banks, investors and operators:
- Feasibility studies on Geographical Information System (GIS): analysis of the applicable constraints, definition of the potential project layout and wind turbine types,
- Feasibility studies on WindPRO: preliminary energy production estimates and potential layout optimization;
- Management of measurement campaigns with meteorological masts and LiDARs: tender management for installation companies, supervision of the installation process, commissioning of the measurement system & data quality control;
- Bankable energy yield assessment for projects under development or to be built: analysis of wind data measured on site, modelling in WindPRO or Meteodyn, calculation of losses and associated uncertainties;
- Operational energy yield assessment for existing projects for refinancing or sale/acquisition or repowering/extension: analysis of 10min SCADA data, long-term calibration and estimation of future production losses, as well as associated uncertainties;
- Analysis of wind turbine data during their test on completion, during the acceptance phase (end of project construction);
- Performance analysis of existing wind farms based on SCADA data;
- Ad-hoc analysis of wind or SCADA data for special cases (datamining);
- Development and improvement of internal tools;
- Quality Insurance of internal assessments and reports (review process);
- Mentor career development of junior engineers / colleagues;
Depending on the company's activity and your mindset, you may also participate in other projects (business development, technology watch, site inspections, ESG issues, etc.).
Technical and soft skills required
- Passionate about Renewable Energy;
- Master of Engineering degree, or similar (civil, mechanical or electrical preferably);
- Technical experience in wind energy assessment (ideally you have already worked with WindPRO or equivalent, and Meteodyn or equivalent CFD suite);
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, for a project developer, operator or technical consultancy;
- Able to write and explain reports in English or French;
- Programming (Python) and datamining skills would be a bonus;
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel;
- Advanced level in Excel/Word;
- Curiosity and proactivity;
- Developed team spirit;
- Very comfortable/fluent in French and English.
