About EGIDE

EGIDE is building a new European defense leader focused on scalable, intelligent air‑defense architectures. We develop mass‑use interceptors designed to neutralize low‑cost, high‑volume threats such as Shahed‑type loitering munitions and FPV drones. About The Role

As a Warhead Design Engineer, you will own the design and development of the full lethal chain of our electric interceptor. You will work across the complete lifecycle: from pre‑dimensioning and architecture definition, to simulation, testing, validation, and industrialization – including live explosive test campaigns. You will be responsible for ensuring that the interceptor achieves effective neutralization of Shahed‑class targets under strict system constraints (mass, volume, safety, cost).

What You’ll Do

  • Design and dimension the full lethal chain: explosive charge, initiation chain, safety & arming device (S&A), proximity fuze, and safety logic
  • Perform analytical and numerical pre‑sizing of warhead architectures based on mission scenarios and target sets
  • Develop and optimize lethality (blast, fragmentation, terminal effects) against representative aerial threats
  • Define and manage technical specifications at system and subsystem levels
  • Produce and maintain full engineering documentation:
    • Technical Specifications (system and subsystem levels)
    • Design Documentation Package
    • Product Definition File / Technical Data Package (TDP)
    • Interface Control Documents (ICDs): mechanical/physical, pyrotechnic, functional, electrical
    • Performance Assessment Report (lethality, safety, reliability)
  • Lead or coordinate design activities internally and with subcontractors
  • Run and supervise simulations in fast dynamics (blast, fragmentation, impact) using tools such as Radioss, LS‑Dyna, Impetus or equivalent
  • Define, plan, and execute experimental campaigns: arena tests, functional tests, safety validation
  • Analyze test data (ground and flight) and iterate on design
  • Ensure integration with propulsion, avionics, and guidance teams
  • Drive industrialization: design for manufacturability, supplier interaction, transition to production
  • Contribute to safety analysis (FMEA, risk analysis, safety logic validation) and compliance

You Are a Fit If You Have

  • Engineering degree with specialization in detonics, energetics, or explosive engineering
  • 5+ years experience, including at least 3 years in military warhead or energetic systems design
  • Strong mastery of analytical and theoretical methods for warhead sizing (blast, fragmentation, lethality models)
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one simulation tool: Radioss, LS‑Dyna, Impetus, Speed
  • Experience writing structured engineering documentation (specifications, test procedures, design dossiers, TDPs, ICDs)
  • Solid understanding of full lethal chain: energetic materials, initiation systems, S&A mechanisms
  • Experience in test environments (data acquisition, analysis, experimental campaigns)
  • Strong system engineering mindset and ability to work across multidisciplinary interfaces

Nice To Have

  • Experience with liner‑based charges (shaped charge, CGN)
  • Experience with proximity fuzes or advanced initiation systems
  • Experience with explosive testing (arena tests, instrumented trials)
  • Familiarity with industrialization and production scaling of munitions
  • Exposure to safety standards and ordnance qualification processes
