Project Context
This international volunteer project focuses on empowering women who have migrated to Kathmandu from rural areas to work as domestic helpers. Volunteers will help these women develop essential skills, build confidence, and broaden their horizons at Chetana Mahila Secondary School.
Daily Life
You’ll be teaching adult women of various ages and learning capacities, designing lessons to suit your students, whether using a course book or engaging in conversational English and real-life topics. In Nepal, higher education is taught in English, so improving language skills is crucial. You can also introduce mathematics, science, geography, technology, music, personal development, environmental awareness, and general health and safety. The aim is to empower students to participate more fully in their families and communities.
