Job Description
Airbus Defence and Space invites applications for a long‑term contract (Permanent) to join the Customer Services Department. The role focuses on managing all translation activities for technical documentation and related marketing, press release and commercial content, ensuring linguistic quality and compliance with style guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate documents from English to French and vice versa, covering technical, marketing, and commercial materials.
- Proofread and revise translations to maintain quality and adherence to the company’s editorial standards.
- Validate deliverables in all required languages.
- Lead end‑to‑end translation projects: manage requests, assign tasks to internal or external translators, track progress and timelines, and enforce cost and quality controls.
- Ensure terminological consistency by developing and maintaining glossaries and translation memories.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand translation needs and deliver tailored linguistic support.
- Participate in continuous improvement of translation processes and tools.
- Manage relationships with external translation service providers, evaluating performance and handling budget estimates.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of translated documents: creation, versioning, publication, archiving, and obsolescence management.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in translation or equivalent.
- Native or bilingual proficiency in French, and fluent proficiency in English.
- Minimum 7 years of professional translation experience (preferred).
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt style and tone to different audiences.
- Proficient in Trados Studio and other computer‑assisted translation tools.
- Strong project‑management skills and high level of organization.
- Precision, meticulousness, and a customer‑orientated mindset.
- Flexibility, independence, and teamwork capabilities.
- Knowledge of an additional language is a plus.
