Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on Test Engineer to join our GNC Hardware team. You will design, build, and operate custom testbeds to validate sensors and actuators. Your ability to bridge hardware testing and electronic design will be central to ensuring flight hardware meets its performance requirements. This position is based in Toulouse, France.

What you will do:

  • Test Bench Development — Design, build, and commission test benches and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for GNC hardware validation, including mechanical fixtures, electrical harnesses, test PCBs, and other custom instrumentation.
  • Review, inspect, and functionally test incoming electronic boards and assemblies: verify board bring‑up, debug anomalies using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Develop test software for GNC components (sensors, actuators), including automated test scripts, data acquisition, processing pipelines, and reporting tools.
  • Develop and execute formal test procedures for component‑level and subsystem‑level validation, from first‑article inspection through production acceptance.
  • Process, analyze, and document test results to support performance model updates, calibration, and design reviews.
  • Participate in AIT campaigns, including environmental testing ensuring continuity from component validation through production.

What you bring:

  • BS +5 years / MS +3 years in Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in hardware testing, validation, or AIT in a space, aerospace, or high‑reliability environment.
  • Proficiency with Altium (PCB layout, design review) for test board and adapter development.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with lab instruments: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and build PCB schematics, identify failure modes, and debug board‑level issues.
  • Proficiency in Python, Unix/Linux/Bash, git‑based workflows.
  • Experience handling sensitive electronics, optics, and mechanical hardware, including clean room practices and ESD protocols.
  • Experience building and operating test jigs using Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar embedded platforms.
  • Organized and proactive problem solver who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced startup environment.

Bonus points:

  • Knowledge of GNC sensors and actuators and associated test methods.
  • Experience with spacecraft AIT and environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMC).
  • Familiarity with common spacecraft communication interfaces: SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, RS‑422/485.

Application Language

While we welcome candidates with global experience, please note that English is the language we conduct our business in, and application submissions will need to be in English or both English and French to be reviewed by our global team.
