Technical Sales Specialist – High-End Scientific Instrumentation
Our client operates in the high‑technology scientific instrumentation sector, supporting advanced research and industrial innovation in semiconductors, geology, materials science, and academic or government research. The portfolio includes highly specialised analytical instruments used by leading semiconductor groups, national laboratories, and top‑tier universities. The sales approach is consultative, application‑driven, and centred on long‑term partnerships.
Southern Europe is the region with the largest potential and therefore requires extensive prospection. A network of agents is already in place; this role will strengthen the company’s ability to support them, expand prospection, and reinforce direct sales in key countries. You will step into a strategic position within a collaborative and agile European commercial team.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop the market across Southern Europe
- Coach and motivate existing agents, guiding them on where to focus and how to grow business
- Manage direct key accounts in France, Benelux, and French‑speaking Switzerland
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Product Sales Leaders to qualify opportunities and shape solutions
- Represent the organisation at conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings
- Maintain a structured pipeline and feed the CRM with relevant insights
- Work in an environment where patience, curiosity, and listening skills are essential; sales cycles are long and meaningful.
The personality we value : We are looking for someone who is both driven and empathetic. You know how to open doors tactfully, support partners constructively, and build trust through genuine listening. You enjoy meeting people, learning continuously, and engaging with advanced scientific minds in Europe. You like both hunting for new opportunities and nurturing established relationships.
Ideal Candidate
- You enjoy scientific or technical environments and naturally want to understand how things work
- You prefer thoughtful, relationship‑based sales cycles over transactional approaches (some sales can take up to 3 years so patience is key)
- You value autonomy and appreciate the freedom to structure your territory and agenda
- You want to contribute to a company where your work is visible and meaningful
- You are motivated by learning, developing expertise, and being close to the world of research and innovation
We offer several weeks of structured onboarding, including technical training, shadowing, and continuous support from senior team members.
Location, Travel, and Benefits
You will join a friendly and collaborative European team that values knowledge‑sharing and mutual support. Travel represents around half of your time, usually two to three days per week with occasional overnight stays. The role can be home‑office based, with regular visits to the headquarters near Paris.
Compensation includes a fixed salary around €80K and a variable component of about 30% at target, with the possibility of doubling the bonus through strong performance.
If this sounds like the right next step in your career, we invite you to send your CV along with a brief introduction.
