Collecting production data in real time is the core functionality of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and, as such, is at the center of the Rockwell Automation key development strategy.
To support our fast growth, Rockwell Automation Information Solution business unit is looking for one Technical Leader. The primary goal is to support the Information Software Delivery Team in working with our Customers on their Connected Enterprise Journeys in the areas of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Information Solutions.
The Technical Leader will take part in Rockwell Automation’s exciting emerging technology development. Their time will be split between the delivery and maintenance of systems and the support of the sales department within multiple industries (Automotive, Consumer Goods, etc.) with a specific focus on the Automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Help and support the implementation and deployment of our solutions in close cooperation with the Project Manager and the Quality Manager
- Design and configure Rockwell Automation Information Software solutions to meet customer project requirements (MES, IIoT)
- Determine system development methods, lead and coordinate development activities of project engineers.
- Ensure that development tasks are executed in alignment with the procedures/work instructions of the current Quality System. Help project team in reviewing and approving technical deliverables for projects.
- Stay up‑to‑date, quickly learn and articulate the features and benefits of new products and solutions
- Act as a coach to engineering and other specialists on our solutions.
- Provide on‑site installation, commissioning and start‐up services for our MES solutions
Key Skills
- Strong ability with Java programming and development environments including Eclipse.
- Familiarity with common tools such as SVN, CVS, Git, JUnit, JIRA, Jenkins, ANT, and Maven.
- Knowledge of relational database management system (RDBMS) packages including SQL Server and Oracle.
- Knowledge of virtualized environments such as VMWare, distributed computing, load balancing/sharing.
- Knowledge of J2EE Application Servers (e.g., JBoss) to perform installation, configuration and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
- Ability to lead development activities with project team members spread across the globe.
- Application experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a plus.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or Science, or equivalent technical experience.
- Typically minimum of 5 years of experience in systems, MES software or application engineering capacity.
- English and French speaking and writing skills.
