Base pay range

As a Tech Lead at Sesamers, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our product and of our tech team. You will help manage and grow our contributors, and take our platform to the next level, integrating AI-features to stay ahead of the competition.

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead or Engineering Manager to lead our development team. Currently, we have 2 developers and plan to expand our tech team to increase velocity and stability.

At Sesamers, our mission is to empower European startups by providing resources, opportunities, and support. We aim to significantly boost the European tech sector and build a comprehensive platform for startup data, leveraging the latest technologies to facilitate connections, opportunities, and fundraising.

The main goal of the tech team is to develop and maintain our platform to realize this vision and support our company's growth. Additionally, we manage and expand our media presence.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to product design and development, including AI-enabled features like data completion and recommendation systems
• Lead the implementation of an atomic design system (e.g., Storybook)
• Contribute to data strategy, pipeline development, and AI integration
• Write high-quality code and architecture, introducing automated testing
• Analyze requirements and evaluate scope, cost, and schedule trade-offs with the PM
• Review code contributions from team members and improve overall quality
• Ensure platform scalability and performance
• Define and monitor development metrics
• Enhance automation, data engineering, and AI integration
• Identify and mitigate software weaknesses to ensure data security

Lead and mentor developers

• Oversee technical progress of team members and projects
• Propose best practices in development and management

Product development

• Explore new product opportunities and features (AI, automation) with the team
• Manage project monitoring, analytics, and reporting

Join a team building front-end apps, backend infrastructure, and automated data workflows using technologies like React/Next.js, MongoDB, and TypeScript. We plan to evolve our stack by moving away from Next.js/Vercel and incorporating new frameworks and Elasticsearch.

Requirements

• 2+ years of proven experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager
• Strong understanding of code and architecture concepts
• Experience with Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript
• Experience with cloud providers
• Result-oriented with a hands-on approach from concept to implementation
• Business acumen to prioritize actions
• Strong analytical and data-driven skills
• Team player with collaboration and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and mentor
• Excellent English communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience in startups, VC, innovation, or events
• Interest in Machine Learning
• French language skills
