Job Purpose

On the basis of the activities assigned by his/her superiors, the senior technician carries out itinerant interventions and repairs, maintenance, and commissioning on equipment and installations. He/she provides technical support to operational teams.

Significant Activities

  • Support and intervene with operational teams in the event of technical difficulties.
  • Provide technical justification for warranty claims and pass on information to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in or contribute to the drafting of operating procedures, in collaboration with the product teams.
  • Transmit technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders (customers), in collaboration with technical training teams.
  • Functionally manage various service providers on worksites.
  • Carry out routine or complex diagnostics in collaboration with assistance or hierarchy.
  • Draw up lists of parts required for the work and prepare estimates if necessary.
  • Perform risk analysis prior to intervention and prepare work (parts, consumables, tools, etc.).
  • Recommend refurbishment solutions to customers and coordinate quotations with internal stakeholders.
  • Carry out routine and complex preventive and corrective maintenance work on equipment based on maintenance plans and operating procedures.
  • Ensure that equipment is in good working order after intervention.
  • Carry out functional and performance tests on equipment before and after intervention.
  • Understand and use technical documentation (manuals, etc.).
  • Carry out all equipment commissioning, parameterization, and calibration.
  • Confirm or deny qualification of repair orders (billable, warranty, contract, etc.).
  • Identify opportunities for additional interventions using the business tool.
  • Complete operational documents and tools (reports, logs, etc.).
  • Report daily on activities to line management.
  • Occasionally provide back‑up on another perimeter (geographical, sector, activity, etc.).

Responsibilities and Scope

  • Guarantee the quality and timeliness of itinerant operations.
  • Ensure the conformity of workstations and tools.
  • Provide technical support for operational teams.
  • Strictly apply health and safety rules (personal protective equipment, procedures, working alone, etc.).
  • Strictly apply the customer risk prevention plan and environmental rules.
  • Respect standard times.
  • Apply internal and external compliance procedures and rules.
  • Perform on‑call duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma(s) and/or experience: Vocational baccalaureate to Bac +2 in maintenance, mechanics or electrical engineering, and/or significant experience.
  • Specific technical knowledge: in‑depth knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulics, general knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations, basic knowledge of IT tools and information systems.
  • Intermediate level in English (B1).
  • Behavioral skills: analytical skills, relational skills, rigor, autonomy, exemplarity, curiosity, adaptability, responsiveness.
