Superintendent, Deck
Position Summary
This position is responsible to manage, coordinate, follow and continuously develop all RCL Newbuilding Deck and Bridge discipline areas, including Open Decks. The Superintendent is also responsible to create and follow up program for the Newbuilding design, inspection and approval processes and responsible to communicate and share the ongoing activities and information with RCL Fleet vessels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow up of deck, hull outfitting design related items
- Bridge design and continuous development related items
- Coating / Anti-corrosive protection, specification related items.
- Approval of deck and bridge equipment related items.
- Coordinate the meetings with yard and various deck and paint related vendors.
- Prepare the agendas and minutes of meetings for each deck related meeting.
- Participate approval process for factory acceptance test (FAT).
- Participate approval process for harbor and sea trial procedures.
- Attending coating inspections, safety related inspections and outfitting inspections.
- Participate the LSA, Safety and Firefighting Plan related design team work.
- Follows and applies future development in Marine technology and Industrial business.
- Establishes reports on each responsibility area.
- Ensures that all related innovations and lessons learned from existing fleet will be implemented on future Newbuilding projects.
- Coordinate, provide information and support the Brand / start-up crew.
- Participate on Post-Delivery support.
Qualifications
Deck officer at Sea / Naval Architect / Marine Engineer
Minimum five years of experience in the area of newbuilding marine technologies
High level communications skills. Ability to proactively create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, development partners and with remote based colleagues.
Knowledge and Skills
Fluency in English. Computer literate.
Deep knowledge of SOLAS and IMO. Excellent knowledge of ship technical systems, energy and environmental design and technology.
Capable of handling large systems and development projects simultaneously.
Ensure good and strong cooperation with shipyards, suppliers, development partners and colleagues.
Able to teamwork in multicultural working environment and willingness to travel.
