Stamping Process Engineer
Overview
As a Stamping Process Engineer at Toyota’s Technical Centre in Brussels, you develop and optimise stamping processes for new vehicle models. You design die faces, run forming simulations, validate tools and equipment, support try‑outs, and ensure parts are feasible for mass production. You collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams across Europe, drive continuous improvement, and help introduce innovative technologies to shape Toyota’s factory of the future.

Team Description
Your team and your responsibilities
The Vehicle Production Engineering (VPE) Division supports the introduction of new vehicle models into Toyota’s European manufacturing plants.

This role is based at Toyota’s Zaventem Technical Centre – Brussels.
Your Responsibilities
- Die Face development in CATIA V5 and define & develop stamping processes in line with Toyota Standards.
- Utilize digital forming simulation tools (e.g. AutoForm, Ansys) to create and optimise processes and predict potential defects.
- Lead the design review and validation of stamping parts, stamping dies, tools, and press equipment in cooperation with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Coordinate try‑out and production trials, analyse forming results, and implement effective countermeasures for issues such as springback, wrinkling or cracks.
- Work closely with Body Engineering, Production, and Quality departments to ensure part feasibility and manufacturability.
- Support mass production readiness by ensuring process capability and tool reliability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement (Kaizen) of stamping processes, tool maintenance standards, and production efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation and periodic progress reports.
- Share technical know‑how and provide engineering support across Toyota’s European manufacturing sites.
- Explore and introduce innovative manufacturing technologies—including digital tools, automation, and virtual reality applications—to improve workflows and support Toyota’s vision of the factory of the future.
Your Profile
- You work mainly on‑site in Valenciennes (TMF) and are available 1 day per week in Brussels.
- You are open to international travel, including training in Turkey and project support in countries such as the Czech Republic.
- You are fluent in English; knowledge of French is required for daily operations. Turkish or Japanese is a plus.
- You are open to occasional weekend or shift‑based support during critical production moments (compensated).
- You have a Master’s degree in Engineering and bring experience in stamping, press‑die manufacturing, or a related mobility/automotive environment.
- You are proficient in Catia V5 and ideally AutoForm or similar CAD/simulation tools.
- You can manage and interpret 3D data, drawings and technical documentation.
- You have strong communication, problem‑solving skills and enjoy working in a multicultural team.
- You take a proactive, hands‑on approach and are motivated by continuous improvement.
