Sr Sales Account Manager
Role Overview
Senior Sales Account Manager (SAM) – responsible for developing business within an assigned region and a set of accounts, working with cross‑functional teams to formulate client strategies, manage clients, and close strategic opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales quota.
- Develop and grow a pipeline of opportunities for AspenTech products within the Process industries.
- Cold call and prospect to meet pipeline goals.
- Manage the day‑to‑day sales process, coordinate account meetings and sales support resources.
- Provide sales and executive management with account updates, sales forecasts, and other information on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate and lead multidivisional account teams.
- Work as a team member on sales efforts involving global account opportunities.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships at assigned accounts.
- Develop and maintain domain knowledge and competitive intelligence of machine learning, smart manufacturing, and IoT.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, industrial, production, or petroleum engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years software sales experience with a proven track record against personal quota.
- Demonstrated success in direct sales of software solutions.
- Significant experience leading multimillion‑dollar sales campaigns.
- Proficiency in establishing and cultivating C‑level consultative relationships.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Professional proficiency in French required.
- Personal computer literacy.
- Experience selling to customers in Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Process industries preferred.
- Familiarity with process modeling software products and services, APC/real‑time optimization, asset management, MES, and planning and scheduling solutions preferred.
- Travel expected 50% of the time.
