By combining GIS, AI/ML, IoT and mobile technologies, it delivers major improvements in safety, quality, cost and schedule. Construct has already supported more than 16 GW of projects for leading owners and EPCs.
Role
Terabase’s Senior Manager, AI/ML Engineering Team will lead the Paris‑based AI/ML engineering group, report to the Head of Engineering, and work closely with engineering teams in the United States and Belgrade, Serbia. This leader will design, build, release and support AI/ML features for Construct, while building a high‑performing, culture‑aligned team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the leader of the Paris‑based AI/ML engineering team and grow a high‑performing, mission‑aligned group.
- Plan, guide and execute key team activities in coordination with the senior director of software in Paris.
- Collaborate with other key leaders: Director of Construction Technologies, Director of IoT Technologies, Director of Autonomy, Principal Solution Architect.
- Lead the initial small team of primarily AI/ML engineers.
- Conduct research and stay current on advances in machine learning and AI systems.
- Perform rigorous testing and validation of machine learning products in diverse construction environments.
- Collaborate with internal and external software development teams.
- Design, train, test and deploy models that augment and create new Terabase software products to digitise the full lifecycle of solar power plants.
- Communicate with and support users of developed tools and products.
- Champion culture and communication by building bridges between the local and other Terabase teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience with AI/ML architecture, technologies and approaches relevant to Terabase products.
- Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent industry/academic experience.
- 4+ years developing AI/ML models and pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, Julia, R or MATLAB.
- Experience in computer vision.
- Experience with deep‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with data‑labeling validation software frameworks.
- Experience in MLOps.
- Ability to work remotely with distributed teams in multiple time zones.
- Proficient written and verbal English.
- Solid programming skills with exposure to object‑oriented and functional programming.
- Solid understanding of agile workflow management and the software product lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience with LLMs and foundation models.
- Experience with Spark‑based ML pipeline execution systems.
- Experience with AWS EMR or equivalent pipeline tools.
- Experience in data management and curation to improve model quality over time.
- Experience with software product design and product management.
- Experience building ETL pipelines for large and frequently changing datasets.
- Experience building AI/ML into customer‑facing products.
- Experience with digital twins.
- Experience with GIS technologies and applications.
- Startup experience focused on building new products and accessing new markets.
