Specialist Actuary - Dublin or Paris

Our client a leading global (re)insurance provider is seeking a Specialist Actuary to join its Actuarial Financial Reporting (AFR) team.

This role is based in Dublin, Ireland or Paris, France, with a hybrid working model .

This role supports the Head of Reserving for International Financial Lines, covering a complex portfolio including Management Liability, Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, M&A, Title, and Cyber. You will work within a global actuarial function, partnering with underwriting, pricing, claims, reinsurance, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to best estimate reserving, including methodologies, assumptions, and quarterly analysis
  • Deliver financial reporting insights, including analysis of change and commentary for senior stakeholders
  • Support profitability analysis and business planning, including loss ratio setting
  • Partner with underwriting and actuarial teams to provide data‑driven insights and recommendations
  • Contribute to projects and process improvements across reserving and reporting

Required Experience & Skills

  • Nearly or newly qualified non‑life actuary
  • Experience in reserving or actuarial financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate results clearly
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a global or complex environment
  • Proficiency in Excel (ResQ or similar tools advantageous)
