Operations Transformation Specialist - Reinsurance
A leading global reinsurer is hiring an Operations Transformation Specialist to support the modernisation of its Parametric Agriculture business , one of the most innovative and data-driven areas of the organisation.
This role sits within the COO function and will play a key role in reshaping operational processes, introducing stronger governance frameworks and embedding data-led decision making into the business.
This is not a traditional operations position . The role combines process transformation, analytics, governance and insurance expertise , working closely with underwriting leaders, data scientists and financial engineering teams in a highly technical environment.
The Opportunity
You will help redesign and modernise the operating model supporting a global parametric agriculture portfolio. The position offers the opportunity to influence how a complex specialty line operates by improving processes, strengthening controls and integrating modern data capabilities.
Working with senior stakeholders across underwriting, operations, risk and analytics teams, you will contribute to a wider transformation programme focused on efficiency, scalability and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to redesign and improve business processes, policies and operational controls
- Support the implementation of new operating models and governance frameworks
- Work with underwriting, analytics and finance teams to embed data-driven insights into operational workflows
- Develop automated monitoring, reporting and operational performance tracking
- Design and implement data management frameworks to support analysis and business reporting
- Coordinate with internal teams including risk, compliance, finance, IT and legal to support business objectives
- Monitor operational performance and ensure alignment with regulatory and governance requirements
- Support oversight of technical accounting processes, bordereaux management and third-party providers
What We're Looking For
This role suits someone comfortable operating at the intersection of insurance operations, transformation and data analytics .
- Background in insurance or reinsurance
- Experience delivering process improvement, operational change or transformation initiatives
- Strong analytical capability and experience working with structured data
- Ability to challenge existing processes and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Exposure to reinsurance, parametric products, CAT or specialist lines
- Experience collaborating with data science or analytics teams
- Knowledge of technical accounting and bordereaux processes
- Experience using Excel, Power BI or similar analytics tools
- French language capability (useful but not essential)
