This field‑based role enables associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands‑on engagement. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

Role Overview
The Special Programs GBD (Foster Care) Manager I is responsible for managing and overseeing a team that coordinates a comprehensive health‑care program in which members’ needs are identified, including physical health, behavioral health, social services for programs such as long‑term service and supports (LTSS), Foster Care, Intellectual & developmental disabilities (IDD), HIV/AIDS, etc.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Manage resource utilization to ensure appropriate delivery of care to members, adequate coverage for all tasks and job responsibilities; coordinate service delivery to include member assessment of physical and psychological factors.
- Participate in cross‑functional workgroups created to maintain and develop the program.
- Evaluate current processes of Special Program’s support functions and recommend changes for increased efficiencies and improved outcomes.
- Develop and conduct training programs for staff involved in the program.
- Extract and manipulate analytical data to present findings to relevant markets and stakeholders.
- Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field, including minimum of 1 year leadership/management experience; or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences
- Service delivery coordination, discharge planning or behavioral health experience in a managed care setting preferred.
- RN, LSW, LPC, or LPN/LVN license preferred.
- Experience working with Children, Youth, and Families served by Local Departments of Social Services through Foster Care and Adoptive Assistance programs is very strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years of managerial experience with direct reports is highly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 20% preferred.
