Job Summary
The Sorting Hub Manager will oversee and optimize the daily operations of JD.com sorting hub, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of packages to meet delivery deadlines and uphold service quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead all aspects of sorting hub operations, including inbound receiving, outbound dispatch, package sorting, cross‑docking, and inventory management.
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational procedures to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sorting hub supervisors and operators, fostering a high‑performance culture and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sorting accuracy, throughput, on‑time performance, labor utilization, productivity, accuracy, and cycle times, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with transportation, warehousing, customer service, and other departments to ensure seamless end‑to‑end logistics operations and resolve operational issues.
- Identify and implement process improvements, technological advancements, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sorting efficiency, capacity, and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, and manage equipment maintenance schedules.
- Prepare and present operational reports and performance updates to senior management, highlighting challenges, achievements, and proposed solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5‑7 years of experience in logistics or warehouse management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a sorting hub or cross‑docking facility.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operational processes.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics software.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
- Fluency in French and English is required; Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a logistics environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
