Solution Engineer - Product Security Compliance
Red Alert Labs is a cybersecurity company dedicated to securing and certifying the IoT, connected products, biometrics, and electronic identity (eID) ecosystems. We help manufacturers, integrators, and regulators assess, improve, and demonstrate the security and regulatory conformity of products with digital elements, including against the EU Cyber Resilience Act, EUCC, RED Delegated Act, eIDAS / EUDI Wallet frameworks, ETSI EN 303 645, IEC 62443, and related security schemes. Our consultants combine deep technical expertise with a pragmatic, evidence-driven approach to help clients reach market access with confidence.
About the Role:
As a Solution Engineer, you sit at the intersection of our sales floor and our technical consulting team. Your primary mission is to help a high volume of manufacturers adopt CyberPass in a standardized, repeatable way, translating connected-product architectures into clear, structured compliance and testing roadmaps, with IoT and EU CRA conformity as your core ground. Tailored, CyberPass-anchored proposals come on top, for the accounts that genuinely need them.
You will operate across the full ecosystem Red Alert Labs serves, which spans connected hardware, biometric sensors, and secure electronic identity (eID) applications. You are not expected to be a deep specialist in every one of these domains on day one; rather, you anchor each engagement in solid product-security fundamentals and coordinate with our senior experts and lab evaluators where specialized depth is required.
You will comfortably demonstrate our proprietary SaaS platform, CyberPass, and your core value lies in driving its adoption at scale in a standardized way, alongside scoping and designing sound, profitable, deliverable security solutions where a tailored approach is needed. This role requires technical depth in product security, a consultative problem-solving mindset, and the judgment to navigate both our expert-led services (consulting and lab evaluations) and our automated platform so that custom proposals are operationally sound and aligned with our delivery capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Drive CyberPass adoption across a high volume of manufacturers, using standardized scoping and proposal approaches so engagements stay consistent and repeatable at scale.
- Lead technical discovery sessions with client R&D, security, and compliance leaders to analyze complex ecosystems spanning IoT devices, secure identity platforms, and biometric authentication devices.
- Architect tailored compliance roadmaps that logically combine expert-led laboratory evaluation services with CyberPass platform capabilities.
- Draft detailed technical proposals and custom Scopes of Work for complex, high-tier, or multi-architecture accounts, ensuring clear boundaries between laboratory testing activities and platform-driven automation.
- Act as the technical lead during negotiations for products requiring specific security schemes such as FIDO Biometrics, EUCC, eIDAS, and other high-assurance certification frameworks.
- Support the sales team in overcoming complex technical objections by translating technical, regulatory, and certification constraints into clear client-facing arguments.
- Deliver or support CyberPass and SaaS platform demonstrations for prospects and clients.
- Synthesize field insights, competitor positioning, and prospect needs into actionable feature requests for the Product team to help guide the CyberPass development roadmap.
- Maintain "Subject Matter Expert" (SME) status on key standards to informally advise internal teams and position our authority in the IoT, biometric, and eID security market.
- Occasional participation or technical representation at industry conferences, webinars, or regional client events.
Preferred Experience
- Education: Master's Degree (Bac+5 / Engineering Diploma) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years in cybersecurity consulting, product security, hardware/software evaluation, secure development, or technical pre-sales.
- Language: Fluent in English; French or German would be an advantage.
Technical skills:
- IoT / Embedded Product Security Depth (Non-Negotiable): Strong working knowledge of IoT security primitives: Secure Boot, cryptography, TEE, Secure Elements, firmware integrity.
- Working knowledge of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), plus at least one of: RED Delegated Act, ETSI EN 303 645, or IEC 62443.
- Independency running technical discovery, mapping a product architecture to compliance blocks, drafting a Scope of Work, and handling technical objections in a sales context.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Customer-oriented mindset
- Adaptability in a fast-changing environment
- Problem-solving mindset
- Sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver results
