About the role
As a Maersk Solution Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of establishing the Contract Logistics capabilities in Europe. You will be a key driver for growth using your operational experience and strong analytical approach to act as the subject‑matter expert on designing and solutioning warehouse/cold store proposals supporting the local sales organizations to win large‑scale opportunities. This is a fully office‑based role, requiring on‑site presence five days per week at one of the advertised locations.
What you’ll be doing
- Design warehousing solutions, including layouts, resource calculations, IT requirements, operational processes and flows, costs, and ensuring compliance with HSSE requirements.
- Develop and prepare new logistics concepts and value propositions based on identified best technical and organizational solutions.
- Engage proactively in the sales process for contract logistics opportunities as a subject‑matter expert and technical support to area sales, safeguarding operational viability of the solutions sold.
- Build market and product knowledge and ensure this information is shared with all relevant stakeholders, sales and colleagues in the wider business.
- Act as a centre of excellence by adopting and sharing best practices with the solution‑design community across Europe.
What you bring
- Significant experience in international supply chains with a strong understanding of the value drivers of supply chain and how they deliver value to customers’ businesses.
- Focused on customer needs with a data‑driven approach and the ability to analyse and translate findings into appropriate solutions and action plans.
- Strong contract‑logistics operational background and understanding, including extensive knowledge of technologies that support warehousing processes and proven pan‑European vertical‑specific understanding of trade, regulatory, statutory and security compliance requirements and technological solutions.
- Numerate, financially astute and analytical with strong knowledge of logistics processes, solution‑design outlines and methodologies.
- Solid technology skills that include a comprehensive understanding of WMS requirements.
- Enjoys collaboration and has a proven track record in a matrix, multi‑cultural organisation, building strong relationships and networks locally and internationally.
- Agile and self‑starter, comfortable working in a high‑pace and versatile environment.
