Solution Architect / Technical Leader

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect / Technical Leader to join a challenging IT project within a European Union Agency in Strasbourg.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining complex IT architecture solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, technical standards and architectural best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable, secure and reliable IT architecture solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architecture models.
• Define and document technology, data and application/service architectures.
• Develop architecture models and diagrams using Sparx Enterprise Architect (Sparx EA) .
• Evaluate technology alternatives and identify reusable components across existing systems.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support integration between cloud, on-premises infrastructure and enterprise applications.
• Ensure architecture compliance with functional, non-functional and security requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Agile environments.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Technology Architecture
• Applications/Services Architecture
• TOGAF Practitioner certification or equivalent.
• Strong experience in solution architecture, technical design and architecture modelling.
• Hands-on experience with architecture modelling tools, particularly Sparx Enterprise Architect .
• Experience with software development, cloud infrastructure and enterprise IT environments.
• Knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), PostgreSQL and Apache Kafka .
• Understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), virtualisation and on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and IT security best practices.
• Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with biometric systems or biometric-related applications.
• Previous experience in EU institutions, agencies or large international environments.
