Software Engineer Java

Software Engineer Java in the Mirakl Labs product teams, permanent contract based in Paris, up to 1 day of remote work per week.

Role Overview

Design, develop, and deploy new business features proposed by the Product Manager across all layers of our applications—from interfaces (UI or REST API) through the business logic to the creation of database schemas and scripts. Work as part of a team with total ownership over the products, ensuring both business consistency and technical stability.

Day-to-day Activities

• Build, test, and ship to production through continuous delivery
• Harness AI-powered tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor to accelerate development
• Participate in design sessions with developers, the Product Manager, and UX/UI designers
• Shape technical decisions that drive the product forward
• Sharpen code quality through reviews and pair programming
• Own what you build—monitor and debug production issues end to end
• Attend stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Help define the next quarter's labs roadmap
• Drive continuous improvement in software development processes
• Track the real‑world impact of your features: business cycles, adoption, usage

Our Tech Stack

Java 21 (planned migration to 25), Spring Boot, Kafka, React/Redux, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience with Java and Spring
• Curiosity and pragmatism about AI and its impact on development
• Experience with web‑scale challenges and distributed architectures
• Strong commitment to clean, well‑crafted code
• Desire for a real voice in technical decisions, not just a seat at the table
• Thriving in fast‑paced, demanding environments where continual growth is expected
• Hungry to learn and sharpen your craft
• Fluency in French and comfort working in professional English
