Squad Lead - Java

Responsible for the design, build, adoption, and success of the Mirakl Connect product. Reports to the Senior Engineering Manager.

Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of 4 to 5 developers across Bordeaux, Paris, and remote in France.
• Conduct one‑on‑one meetings and annual reviews.
• Track career progression and training needs.
• Maintain team cohesion, motivation, and smooth operation.

Active Development Contribution

• Take ownership of selected stories.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Design, develop, test, and push code to production.

Technical and Functional Project Coordination

• Build roadmaps with R&D members.
• Coordinate priorities and projects with other leads.
• Serve as point of contact for product and design teams during user story management.
• Ensure velocity and quality commitments are met.
• Address blockers and arbitrate project issues.

Coaching and Team Development

• Upskill team members.
• Onboard new developers successfully.
• Identify and nurture talent.
• Contribute to recruitment within and outside the team.
• Establish best practices in clean code, testing, releases, and pair programming.

Your Profile

• At least 2 years of experience mentoring a team and 5 years of Java development in recent versions.
• Strong listening and communication skills as a manager.
• Balance close management with giving teams autonomy.
• High technical proficiency in Java, Spring, SQL, cloud, and micro‑services.
• Hands‑on coding and contributing to technical projects.
• Professional English proficiency (C1 level).

Location: Paris or Bordeaux office with one remote day per week.
