Service Engineer - Yachts

What are you going to do?

The Service Engineer works at the service hub in La Ciotat*. Two colleagues currently work at this location: an Electrical Production Supervisor and a Service Engineer. The working area is worldwide, mainly France, Spain, and Italy.

In this position, you will be deployed for service and refit work. You must be able to analyze issues independently and as part of a team, identify problems, and develop appropriate solutions.

* Alewijnse provides support for temporary or permanent relocation to La Ciotat, including housing, language classes, and moving assistance.

What will you do?

• Independently install, service, maintain, and commission various types of ships, mainly super yachts.
• Proactively identify problems or deviations during service assignments and projects.
• Prepare summaries and reports on work performed.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Use diagnostic instruments and equipment (e.g., megger meter).
• Follow systematic procedures for problem-solving, think critically, and adapt to new challenges.
• Document findings and results clearly and accurately for internal reporting.
• Prepare concise reports on root causes, possible solutions, and next steps.
• Work comfortably in dynamic environments and adapt to changing priorities.

Who are you?

Requirements include:

• Completed MBO-4 level education in electrical engineering or maritime studies.
• Strong knowledge of automation and electrical engineering.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Persuasiveness, result focus, and autonomy.
• Several years of experience with electrical engineering, preferably onboard ships.
• Experience in automation systems (PLC, SCADA, alarms) is an advantage, especially on ships.
