Ingénieur Principal Méthodes d’Installation Subsea
We are looking for a Principal Project Engineer (Installation Methods) to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team at the Paris office. PG supports pipelay projects globally and our installation engineers play an integral part in finding solutions to complex engineering problems. Our engineers are recognised for their expertise and can oversee specific critical subjects either on business improvement or projects. Your role will involve working in, or leading, a diverse team of installation engineers, coordinating various methods of pipeline installation for work assignments on global projects either in progress or in the process of tendering. You will support the efficient day‑to‑day running of the installation engineering team and provide regular operational reports on general project engineering activities, technical subject matters, and resource management.
Key responsibilities will include:- Supporting, or leading, a team of method engineers to follow project scope(s) from early engagement with our internal and external clients through to offshore execution on board our reel lay/S lay or J Lay assets.
- Being a technical reference for pipeline installation and contributing to the sub‑contractor selection.
- Producing installation method statements and procedures, supporting procurement activities and subcontract follow up, proactively supporting HSEQ activities and preparing and delivering technical presentations.
- Performing installation rigging calculations and rigging design.
- Assisting the Tendering department with feasibility studies , method statements, manhour estimates, schedule inputs and costing support.
- Supporting installation aid procurement, fabrication and testing follow up.
- Following your scope offshore on our installation vessels.
- Degree qualified in Engineering/Marine/Naval/Offshore Technology/Civil/Mechanical or equivalent.
- Extensive experience as a project engineer, mainly within the offshore energy industry.
- Experience in leading engineering teams.
- Experience, or an understanding of, offshore pipeline installation methods, ideally within the reel lay discipline (i.e., Reel Lay, J‑Lay, S‑Lay).
- Experience guiding and leading teams of engineers in project scopes.
- Clear communication skills, able to speak with all levels within the business, comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
