This position is a challenging sales role serving various industries like the traditional oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceutical, power and marine. The role will involve selling electrical heat tracing and thermal management products, services and projects either direct to EPC houses, Contractors and End-Users.

You are responsible for support and developing our industrial heat tracing products and industrial projects business for France. You will lead and drive profitable revenue growth for Chemelex through promoting and implementing effective sales and growth initiatives based on value- and solution selling concepts.

You will report to the South Europe Regional Sales Manager.

What you will experience in this position

Strategic Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Develop and implement a strategy for France in line with the current Industrial Heat Tracing strategy. This strategy is based on a combination of direct products & project business based on value selling and always looking for upselling possibilities (read: services), products through partners, and develop a relationship and long-term strategy with Key Accounts & End Users.
  • Develop a strong focus on upselling to each Client request by understanding Clients’ needs and identifying the hidden demands thru the concept of Value Selling
  • Your focus will be on the Industrial Bizz and thus Customers (direct) and actively support efforts related to the industrial product business.
  • Implement the Way-to-Market coverage-based a.m. strategy. Again, a combination of direct sales, and coordinate the projects services with the multi-functional supporting staff based in the region.

Process and Focus areas:

  • Set up account plans for the Key Accounts (mainly EPC houses / Contractors in projects environment) and End Users.
  • Identify and qualify project opportunities and capture these in Salesforce.
  • Use and apply SalesForce and PriceFX for all Customers.
  • Develop and track actions and activities associated to a.m. opportunities and account plans.
  • Deliver seminars, trainings and lunch & learn at Key Customer groups throughout France on a defined basis.
  • In projects of choice and Key Accounts try to secure strong technical specifications (embedding).
  • Focus on positioning Thermal products and service capabilities to all stakeholders of a project at an early stage to become the partner of choice (based on the diamond relationship methodology).
  • Maintain existing Client relationships by promoting new products, services and special applications.
  • Report competitor activities, review regional threats, consider any hurdles to success and propose an action plan to overcome.

Skills and Mindset:

  • Be an early adaptor and active promoter of Value Selling.
  • Creative, innovative, out of the box thinking, curious and interested, positive energy.
  • Through a consultative sales approach, deliver additional value and grow scope by providing our Customers with specialized solutions and turnkey services. Successfully close the final contract negotiations with Customers and act as an executive sponsor during the execution of projects to optimize Client relationships, project revenue and profitability.
  • Provide regular updates in Salesforce and make it your ultimate daily tool.
  • Promote new innovative solutions to both existing and new Clients including EPC houses, End Users, Consultants and other stakeholders via frequent direct Customer visits.

Metrics:

  • Follow up quarterly with your line manager on agreed actions by PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach and create counter measurements.
  • Provide sales forecasts and activity reports. Maintain project information in CRM system, ensuring regular/weekly follow-up on all open sales prospects and quotations.
  • Analyze your hit rate, review, and take actions.
  • Follow the Price realization metrics.
  • Set and agree upon the Annual sales and profit targets.

You have

  • Preferable bachelor’s degree level or equivalent by experience in an Engineering discipline.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven individual focused on achieving results.
  • Communicative internally and externally.
  • Experience of an external sales environment and selling turnkey solutions in the industrial sector / project environments.
  • Strong market knowledge and relationships with End Users / Contractors associated with the refinery, oil & gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical and power within France.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills and a team player within an international company.
  • Interest in multi-national business with different cultures to be adopted/respected.
  • French mother tongue (or very fluent) and English speaking.
  • Italian and/or Spanish language are nice to have.
  • Ability to interpret information and produce reports.
  • Demonstrable experience of using initiative and working with deadlines as well as being target driven with prioritizing in the right manner.
  • Driving license.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Salesforce.
